The DAS-429ExCARD/RT6D4 has additional Discrete I/Os. They comply with the ExpressCard Standard Release 2.0, and support one lane 2.5 Gbps PCI Express. The cards’ small size and suitability for ExpressCard compatible notebook computers with ExpressCard/54 card slots, make them a complete solution for developing and testing ARINC 429 interfaces and for performing system simulation of the ARINC 429 bus, both in the lab and in the field. These cards support Direct Memory Access (DMA), which enables the cards to access system memory for reading and writing independently of the computer’s CPU. This results in faster data transfer to and from the cards, with much less CPU overhead than when not using DMA.
