INTELLAPATCH 16 Physical Layer Switches A Flexible Solution For Network & Lab Physical Layer Automation Data Specifications APCON’s INTELLAPATCH 16 is an effective, low-cost physical layer switching solution designed to remotely automate network connectivity tasks, such as interoperability lab setup and configurations, network failover, security and access control. With its wire-once technology, this layer-1 switch provides non-blocking, any-to-any connections at wire speed. The INTELLAPATCH 16 is based on a single-blade, modular design, allowing users the flexibility and scalability provided by any of APCON’s advanced technology blades. The unit will support a variety of protocols and data rates including 10-Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel. Other wire-speed connections include 10/100/1000 Ethernet, 1 & 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel, and SONET/SDH (OC-3, OC-12, OC-48). Compatibility or production testing between multiple servers, switches, storage systems, attached devices, peripherals, and operating systems is the prime focus of interoperability test labs. The INTELLAPATCH 16 offers switching in point-to-point (full duplex), multicast (1 to N) and loop topologies, and can significantly reduce engineering, equipment and test reconfiguration time required to validate interconnectivity among various network devices. APCON’s CONTROL Software, standard with each switch, provides an intuitive interface for managing and configuring connections. In addition, it allows users to store up to 16 frequently accessed configurations. Optional software packages include AUTOSWITCH for stand-alone scheduling, monitoring and control; and INTELLAZONE, a multi-user zoning and security software package that enables network administrators and test engineers to assign and secure switches, specific ports or clusters of ports to individual users or groups.
