An alarm table is built by defining the starting bit address name and how many consecutive bits will be in the table. An alarm message can then be associated with each bit. Files can also be built, which allow monitoring the value in a data register. An alarm message can be associated with each register value. These alarm files are downloaded to the QuickPanel. The QuickPanel has an alarm display tool that provides a window into any of the three alarm queues: 1) The alarm queue displays currently active alarm conditions. 2) The historic queue displays alarm conditions that are currently active, those that have been acknowledged by operator personnel and those that have been corrected by personnel. 3) The event log queue lists all alrm activity in sequence and can provide time and date stamping as well as paper print- out.
