Addendum BP10-C2P3-xx Passive Backplane This document supplements the Service Manual, providing additional information concerning the BP10-C2P3-xx Passive Backplane. All Rights Reserved Printed in USA BP10-C2P3-xx Passive Backplane Overview The BP10-C2P3-xx passive backplane provides the following: • Five (5) ISA (Industry Standard Architecture) expansion slots • Three (3) PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) expansion slots • Two (2) CPU or “platform” slots, each made up of one (1) ISA connector and one (1) PCI connector Note: The BP10-C2P3-xx supports one (1) Single Board Computer. The SBC can be installed in either of the two (2) CPU or “platform” slots; an ISA card may be installed in the remaining slot, utilizing the ISA connector. PCI Interrupt The following table lists the PCI interrupt rotation mapping for the BP10-C2P3-xx. Rotation Interrupt rotation mapping, also referred to as interrupt binding, is the mechanism through which a PCI expansion card is identified by the processor and memory systems. A PCI expansion card can be the source of any of four possible interrupts. This is depicted in the first column. The passive backplane maps the individual PCI slots to the CPU slot, allowing the interrupt source to be identified by the processor and memory systems. This is depicted in the remaining columns. Note: PCI slots and controllers are identified by the SBC according to their respective bus and device numbers (Bus:Device). See Figure 1 for slot positions on the backplane. Note: For more information, see the Power Supply Addendum. Power The labels P8 and P9 (Figure 1 on page 2) for the power connectors correspond to Connectors industry standards for PC-compatible power supplies. Before attaching other power connectors, consult the documentation provided by the power supply manufacturer. The tables below list the pin signals for the power connectors. Figure 1 on page 2 indicates the pin positions for each.
