The T1/E1 Service Delivery Experts ® Soneplex Broadband System The Soneplex Broadband system is a flexible platform for the delivery of T1-based Description services. It is ideal for a variety of DS1 distribution applications including point-to- multipoint hubs, outside plant applications, building or campus service distribution, and cellular transport-site feeds. The Soneplex Broadband system accepts either a DS3 or STS-1 electrical SONET network interface – from a SONET multiplexer, digital cross- connect system (DCS) or other network device – and distributes up to 28 DS1 signals over copper or fiber facilities. The Soneplex Broadband system provides a protected network interface to a DS3 signal using two redundant DS3 Multiplexer (MUX) modules or a protected interface to a SONET STS-1 signal with two redundant Electrical Carrier-1 modules (EC1M) and two redundant Virtual Tributary Mapper modules (VTMM). One slot in the high-speed section of the system is reserved for an optional Test Access Unit (TAU) or Remote Test Access Unit (RTAU).
