MIN. This wide speed range, variable EFFICIENCY: 85% AT RATED LOAD frequency system is used on the BA609 tilt rotor aircraft primarily as a INTERNAL FAM power source for the rotor and nacelle -55°C to +71°C de-icers. COOLING: AMBIENT: The generator is configured as a three- phase, four-wire AC machine with an exciter and integral PMG to achieve GEN 33.9 LBS WEIGHT: brushless operation, self-excitation and GCU 3.0 LBS CTA 0.5 LBS precise voltage control. The PMG is oversized, featuring two, thermally isolated 3-phase windings, one used PROTECTIVE OVERVOLTAGE fro generator excitation and the other FUNCTIONS: as an independent source for the flight UNDERVOLTAGE UNDER control computer. The GCU regulates FREQUENCY FEEDER FAULT the voltage for the generator, monitors OVERCURRENT CURRENT LIMITING OPEN POINT OF system health and performance, REGULATION controls the system power contactors PHASE SEQUENCE DETECTION and provides protective functions, as BUILT IN TEST listed.
