Turbine blade tip clearance Meggitt’s microwave product line is designed especially to measure blade tip clearance in turbomachinery. Turbine blade and disc failures often provide advance warning through subtle changes in blade tip clearance or blade time-of-arrival. Meggitt’s microwave system enables closed-loop control and predictive maintenance in the turbine hot section. Probes are designed for operation at extreme temperatures and can be installed in the first stage turbine.
