PC104P-MPSIO4 Low Cost 4-channel Serial I/ O with Programmable Cable, Front or Rear Panel I/ O The PC104P-MPSIO4 board is a low cost 4-Channel Multi-Protocol UART with software selectable Serial I/ O cable interfaces. Each channel can be software configured for RS-232, RS-422/ 485, RS-449, V. 35, EIA-530, V. 36, and EIA-530A. The board can support asynchronous operation to 15Mbits/ sec and isochronous operation to 60 Mbits/ sec. Each transmitter and receiver has a 128 Byte deep FIFO. The board is fully software compatible with 16C550 family of UARTs. The Serial I/ O is through the front panel or P4 rear panel I/ O. Features Include: · 4 Full-Duplex Serial Channels · Either RS-422/485 or RS232 interface available · Up to 10 Mbits/s synchronous operation on each channel · Up to 1 Mbits/s asynchronous operation on each channel · Serial channel cabling - via front panel of host · Built-In-Self Test capability verifies proper operation of the card · Supports Asynchronous, Bisync, SDLC, HDLC, and Nine-bit protocols · Parity and CRC error detection · DMA to/from Zilog Z16C30 (USC) to on-board FIFOs · DMA to/from on-board FIFOs to PMC host · Programmable selectable data rates via on-board baud rate generator per each channel · Sync word selection allows an interrupt upon the reception of a user specified character. · Extensive interrupt signaling capability · Contact Factory for VxWorks™ and WinNT™ drivers Applications Include: ü LAN/WAN Networking ü Telecommunications ü Serial Interface
