The SBP4X4 consists of four totally isolated PICMG segments. Each segment contains four slots; one PICMG CPU slot, two dedicated PCI slots, and one ISA slot. Now four CPUs can share system resources such as the chassis’ redundant power supplies and floppy drives providing extraordinary CPU power in one system package. Although the CPUs share system epowe serviced while other segments continue to operate. This unique backplane power control system is “all-passive”, with no active electronics on the backplane circuit board. Like all DTI backplanes, the SBP4X4 uses DTI’s backplane design standard to reduce bus noise and radiated emissions.
